Not usable anymore

Since the last two updates there are tons of fatal errors! We use the plug-in on many different websites.

1. It’s not possible to use ANY page sort plug in anymore. Everything is ignored. It used to work perfectly but now it has become impossible.

2. The page structure parent child pages is not shown anymore. This worked too and is now destroyed.

We like your plug-in but it’s a shame that you don’t test before committing updates! Please fix that as soon as possible!

Best Regards, Julian

Hi Flockton, please send us the errors you see. We test very extensively before every release. I am very curious about what errors you have. You can also mail them to support@admincolumns.com.

Thank you.

There are no Errors visible nor in the browser console. It just does not work anymore. We tested EVERY drag and drop page sort plug-in available and no one works anymore. They all used to work fine until the second last update!

Also, it’s not possible as I said before to see the page hierarchy when I activate the plug-in.

Everything jumps back tor normal behavior when I deactivate your plug-in.

Thanks for getting back that quick!

You’re talking about fatal errors and two other issues.
As Tobias mentioned, please send us the errors so we can have a look at it. Also please have a look at the previous topics on our forum to see what we said about update errors.

I believe that the other issues are not errors though but intended, yet misunderstood features of our plugin. I believe that you have set up a default sorting preference in the column settings. It is possible to set a default sorting on a column when you visit the overview page.

Besides that, if a user changes the sorting by clicking on a column header, that sorting is stored as a user preference. Next time you visit the overview page, sorting is still applied to that column. You can make sure if that is the case by checking if there’s a ‘Reset Sorting’ button on the top of the overview.

The pages overview by default shows the page hierarchical structure (with child pages) unless the page is sorted. I suspect that sorting is active by one of the two described methods above. If you don’t want this behavior, please make sure that:

1) You reset sorting on the page overview (or any other hierarchal post type overview)
2) That the default sorting is active for your overview on the column settings.

Thanks! The “Reset sorting” button brought the solution! Nevertheless, we never applied a custom sorting on any of our sites and still there was a filter set after the update. Resetting it manually solves the problem obviously.

Thanks again!
