Make the ACF relationship fields editable
That would be a great improvement for sites that rely heavily on relationships between posts.
I’ve seen those 2 requests but there has been no update in over a year:

I’ve also seen the developer template https://github.com/codepress/ac-editable-template , perhaps I could try to do it myself, can you advise how easy/difficult it would be for relational fields?

Good news, this feature will be available in the new 4.0 release which is planned for the end of 2016.
I advice you not to create your own column for the current release because some things will change in 4.0.
There is already a beta available for download on your account but use this version on your own risk and I would not advice to use this beta release on a production server.
