License tab in settings won’t accept license key to activate

I cannot update my license key. When I paste the key from my accounts page to the License tab of the Settings page, and click Activate, the license key disappears and there’s no indication that it succeeded.

I am on version 6.4.23 and a notification says a newer version 6.4.23 is available, but it also says automatic update is unavailable for this plugin.

The notification asking me to enter my license key has been there for several months now. I’ve waited to see if the situation will clear up. I’ve tried the update several times and am confident I am accurately copying and pasting my valid key.

Can you advise on potential issues that need to be resolved in order to successfully enter my license key?

And could you install the plugin Query Monitor, enter the license and see if there are any errors when you try to activate the license?
