Inline Edit

Using the Inline Edit feature doesn’t generate revisions.

Is there an option to make it? We love editing without going into the post, but you lose some functionality without knowing who changed what and when.

Revisions in WordPress only keep track of default WordPress fields, like Title, date, and content.
However, custom fields are not managed with revisions and can never be reverted by a revision.

The same works for our plugin.
If you’re using inline editing for a default WordPress field, a revision is made.
But if you’re using the custom field column or any other fields, the meta is just updated without making a revision.
Unfortunately, there is no workaround for that.

I would then like to change this to a bug!

The default wordpress fields are not creating revisions when using inline edit. (Custom post type, custom status if that matters)

Can you send me the exact steps you took so I can reproduce the issue?
It would be useful if you can send me some screenshots as well.
Feel free to send them to support@admincolumns.com.

Our plugin uses the WordPress methods to store all data with Bulk Edit, and we have no specific feature to store revisions. This is all related to the way WordPress does that out of the box.
