Define ACP_LICENCE only sort of works

My local dev sites are created with the define( 'ACP_LICENCE', 'mylicencegobbledygook'); bit in wp-config.
They all seem somewhat unhappy with the arrangement: the plugin overview keeps showing a stern warning
Warning

and ACP Settings itself seems quite unsure about the state of things
Which one is it now.

Makes me wonder whether using define ACP_LICENSE really is smart, and/or if I did it wrong.

Hi Philippe,

We did some work on the license manager recently which has caused the bug you found. Good to know is that your updates will work correctly. It’s just the message on the plugin page which is incorrectly showing. We’ll fix that in the next release. Thanks for bringing it to our attention!

Cheers

FYI: this is still broken in ACP 4.4.1.

Hi there,

I’m not able to reproduce the issue on a fresh install.
Can you try to deactivate the license and activate it again.
This should be possible, even if you have the license defined in your wp_config.
