Compatibility Issue with Date Formats in Admin Columns Pro v6.4+ for ACF Fields

Dear Admin Columns Pro Support Team,

I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out regarding some recent changes in Admin Columns Pro that have significantly impacted our workflow for managing WooCommerce orders.

We heavily rely on Admin Columns Pro, particularly the Advanced Custom Fields PRO’s date field integration, for managing our product shipping dates. Our process involves filtering orders based on date ranges directly from the admin panel – a feature that is crucial for our daily shipping operations.

Prior to version 6.3.5, the date field supported both ‘Y-m-d’ (e.g., 2024-01-17) and ‘Ymd’ (e.g., 20240117) formats, allowing us to effectively filter and sort data regardless of the date format. However, since the update to version 6.4 (including the latest 6.4.4), it seems that only the ‘Ymd’ format is supported. This change has caused significant disruptions to our e-commerce operations, leading us to roll back to version 6.3.5.

Would it be possible to reintroduce the flexibility of handling multiple date formats in the newer versions of Admin Columns Pro?

Additionally, we have noticed that when filtering by date ranges, omitting either the start or end date now results in an error, which was not the case in previous versions. It appears that the overall compatibility with previous versions has been compromised. We have also observed similar issues with other ACF fields, where filtering by the presence or absence of values seems to be impaired.

Admin Columns Pro is an integral part of our e-commerce site management, and these issues have been a setback for us. We kindly request that these features and compatibilities be reviewed and improved in future updates.

Thank you for your attention to these matters. We look forward to continuing to use Admin Columns Pro and appreciate any efforts to enhance its functionality and compatibility.

Thanks for your message.
Just to be sure, did you add the specific ACF column to show your date fields on the page?
Or are you using the Custom Field column?
When working with ACF, you should be able to create a column for your date field as specific column instead of adding the custom field column. The ACF Date column should automatically work with the ACF specific dateformat (Ymd).

Dear Admin Columns Pro Support Team,

I hope this message finds you well.

I am writing to inform you that the issue I had previously reported regarding the date format compatibility in Admin Columns Pro has been successfully resolved. I would like to express my gratitude for your prompt response and support.

To address the issue, we implemented the following changes:

We standardized the date format for all front-end inputs to ‘Ymd’.
We updated all the existing records in the database to the ‘Ymd’ format.
These modifications ensured consistent data handling and restored our workflow efficiency. It’s a relief to have the issue resolved and to be able to continue utilizing the powerful features of Admin Columns Pro without any further complications.

Thank you once again for your attention and support. It is greatly appreciated.

Best regards,

Thanks for letting us know that you were able to fix the issue.
Having consistent date formats in the database is indeed crucial for performing sorting and filtering actions on the database, not only for our plugin ;)
