Character Encoding
Hey guys,
Hopefully you can help with this one.
We have a custom post type called ‘Firms’ wherein the post_title is the name of the Firm. When we export the list of firms, any firm with an apostrophe renders the incorrect encoding:
e.g.
Government Actuary’s Department (GAD) becomes…
Government Actuary’s Department (GAD)
Where should we change the encoding type?

Thanks for your feedback.
The exported file is always encoded to UTF-8 and cannot be changed at the moment.
We do have a feature request for this to add a hook, but I can’t give you a timeframe on that.
I do expect you’re using Microsoft Excell since Excell does not recognize UTF-8 format automatically.
You can import any CSV file and force it to load as UTF-8.
I don’t use Excell, but I believe this page explains it quite well.
